RSS Feeds
What is RSS?
RSS allows for real time update to your
favorite web content via RSS Readers. Any website providing
RSS content can be included in your RSS Reader to create a
single access point for all of your favorite web content.
RSS Readers allow you to view RSS feeds as standard content
and alert you of any updates. RSS Readers can be downloaded
as standalone applications directly to your desktop. Others
plug directly into your browser or e-mail software. Portals
like My Yahoo act as RSS Readers and allow you to add RSS
content directly to your My Yahoo page. |
|
The City of Novi now offers RSS feeds for
- Press Releases
- Agendas/Minutes
(for Council, Planning, and ZBA meetings)
- Employment Opportunities
- "New In Novi" (updates of special interest made to the home
page)
If you use a portal such as My Yahoo, Google, Newsgator, etc, you
can just click on that link below and follow the directions to add
the content to your page.
If you use a standalone RSS Reader, use the orange XML button to
copy/paste the XML link. (Click the appropriate orange button.
A page will come up in your browser with some .xml code. Just
copy/paste the url from your browser's address line. If you do
not link to a new page, right click on the orange button and select
"Copy Shortcut" to add the URL to your RSS Reader.)
