Navigation/Organization of the Website
Persistent navigation and logical organization makes it easy to
navigate and find the information you're looking for in our website.
Let's take a closer look:
1. The
primary menu (always present at the top of the page) divides our
website into seven main categories: Government, Departments,
Community, Doing Business, Reference, and City Directory.
2. The secondary menu will change depending on what section of
the website you're in.
3. Larger sections of our website (i.e., Services and Community),
will have tertiary-level menus (and sometimes even quad-level
menus). Menus within sections are always present on the page.
More information on tertiary menus is below.
4. Search the website here. Or for advanced search
functionality, click here.
5. The Events Calendar is available on every page. Links to
comprehensive event information are available with the simple click
of your mouse. Click the more link at the bottom of the list
to view the entire calendar.
6. Frequently visited pages are listed in the left margin area.
 More on
Tertiary Menus

Larger sections of our website (i.e., City Services), will
have tertiary-level menus. Along the top will be links to
information related to each section.
For example, if you click on the Forms/Permits button in the above
menu, you would be linked directly to the Clerk's available forms
and permits.
If you see in a tertiary menu, it means there is
another "section" of information, not just a single page of
information.
If you see
in a tertiary menu, it means that particular
menu item is available in Adobe Acrobat .pdf format. Clicking
on it will open the .pdf document in a new browser window. See
more information on .pdf documents in
Printing/Downloading.
Printing/Downloading
When we think our visitors would want to print the information we
are presenting in our website, we make it available in Adobe format
(.pdf), indicated by this symbol:

If you are having problems viewing .pdf documents,
please
download the free Acrobat Reader here.
To print a .pdf document, left click on the link, then click on
the printer icon, or click on File/Print.
To print information on a page in our website where a .pdf is not
available (just a regular page), highlight what you want printed,
click on File/Print, then select "Selection" under Print Range.
This way all the graphics (buttons along the top and left side) will
not print.
To download a .pdf file to your computer's hard drive, left click
on the link, then click on the save icon (looks like a disk).
Enter the filename and click Save. You can also right click,
then "Save Target As" (Internet Explorer) or "Save Link As"
(Netscape). Enter the filename and click Save.
(Note that the above outlined options may not be available on
older browsers.)
Technical
Stuff
We've optimized our imagery as much as possible without affecting
the quality of the graphics. This minimizes slow download
times. In addition, graphics are also sliced optimally to
minimize slow download times.
Our website is designed so that it can be viewed easily at
1024x768. If you have to scroll left/right to see
the entire page, your resolution is set too low. To adjust
your resolution, go to your computer desktop, right click, go to
Properties, then select the "Settings" tab.
Some services in our website open new browser windows on your
computer. Unfortunately, this technology is similar to the approach
used for those annoying pop-up and pop-under advertisements.
If you have pop-up blocker software on your computer, this content
may not be displayed. To work around this problem, simply
suspend the operation on the pop-up blocker software, open the page,
then re-engage your pop-up blocker software.
Technical difficulties can be reported here.
Searching
the Website
If you cannot find what you are looking for, use our advanced
search feature. Detailed help on Searching is available on the
Search Page.
Accessibility
We thought is was important to make our website accessible.
Websites are accessible if they can be used as effectively by people
with disabilities as by those without. A sighted visitor will
not even notice, though. The steps taken to make a website
accessible are "behind the scenes."
